Wayward Mile
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Self
Components: V, S, M (a worn-through boot sole and a knotted length of surveyor's cord, which the spell consumes)
Duration: 1 hour
Description
You kneel on a road, a towpath, a game trail, or any other way that people and animals have worn into the land, and you fold the distance ahead of you. For the duration, you and up to eight willing creatures who stay within 30 feet of you travel that way at ten times your normal overland pace: an hour of unhurried walking carries the group up to ten miles, and none of you gain Exhaustion from the march or from a forced pace while the spell lasts. The road does all the work and remembers none of it, so the party arrives rested and the miles behind you feel like an afternoon half recalled. The spell fails immediately in trackless country, since there must be an existing way for it to fold, and it ends early if you leave the way, if any creature in the group takes damage, or if you or any of them make an attack. Wayward Mile cannot cross a body of water, a planar boundary, or a road that has been deliberately warded against travel.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, three additional willing creatures can be affected and the group can cover five additional miles for each slot level above 5th.
