AI features use your own provider API key (billed per use by the provider), which is separate from any ChatGPT Plus or Gemini Advanced subscription. Your key is encrypted in this browser before it is saved to your account, so it is never stored in readable form, and every AI request goes from your browser straight to the provider. It never passes through Chronicle Codex's servers, and Codex itself never sees it. Never share your API keys or tokens with anyone.
AI Routing
Set the order each model is tried. The top one is your default. If it is rate-limited or fails, the next is tried automatically.

Download my data
A JSON file of everything stored under your account: profile, saved monsters and spells,
Codex sessions and notes, preferences, activity, campaigns, and every gallery submission you
have made. Your AI provider keys are never included.
Delete my account
This permanently deletes your profile and everything saved under it, your campaigns,
your uploaded images and your sign-in. Your gallery submissions are withdrawn and their
author becomes “Former member”. The site's data in this browser is cleared too.
It cannot be undone, so download your data first if you want to keep anything.
If you have a paid plan, cancel it from the Subscription tab first.
