Veil of the Second Skin
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute (concentration)
Description
You cloak yourself in a shimmering illusory duplicate that clings to your body like a second skin, its movements a half-second out of step with your own. Until the spell ends, any creature that makes an attack roll against you has disadvantage on the roll, as your true outline blurs against the false one.
When an attack misses you while this spell is active, you can use your reaction to collapse the spent duplicate and reweave it, instantly swapping places with an after-image in an unoccupied space you can see within 15 feet of you. You can use this reaction-swap once. A creature that can see through illusions, or that is within 5 feet of you when it attacks, ignores the disadvantage but not the swap.
The spell ends early if you are incapacitated or if you dismiss it (no action required).
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you gain one additional reaction-swap for each slot level above 2nd.
