Hunt of the Painted Beast
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a scrap of hide painted with the likeness of a predator)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute (concentration)
Description
You paint a predator out of light and fear and set it loose on a single quarry. Choose one creature you can see within range; it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of an illusory beast that only it can fully perceive, stalking just at the edge of its sight. While frightened this way, at the start of each of its turns the creature takes 3d6 psychic damage as the phantom lunges and savages it. The creature repeats the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. A creature that can't be frightened is unaffected, and the spell ends early if the target moves so that it has total cover from you.
At Higher Levels
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the psychic damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.
