Description

Selavaine Morrow arrives in a town the way good weather does, and people are pleased to see her for about four days. She is a fallen aasimar of the Ordered Light, sent downriver to audit the faith of a parish that stopped sending its tithes, and she conducts that audit with genuine warmth, excellent manners and no upper limit. She takes confession in the open air, remembers every child's name, pays for her own lodging, and has had eleven people drowned in the delta this season for the good of th

Appearance

Tall and silver-eyed, with the faint grey ashfall pattern across her cheekbones that marks a fallen aasimar. Travels in undyed wool rather than vestments, carries no visible weapon, and keeps her hands folded at her waist. In lamplight her shadow lags about half a second behind her.

Motives

To return the Reedmouth to the Ordered Light with a clean ledger, and to be able to say the final number out loud without flinching. Privately, she wants someone to argue her down and actually win.

Personality

Unfailingly kind, and kind in a way that does not adjust when you beg. Quirk: she apologises sincerely before every cruelty, and means the apology exactly as much as she means the cruelty.

Voice

Warm, unhurried, conversational. Asks after your family and listens to the whole answer. Never raises her voice; when she is about to do something terrible she gets slightly quieter.
