Description

Ledger-of-Ash arrived in Brightloch the week the ice began to move, carrying a folio of debts it had bought for a fraction of their value from creditors who assumed the glacier would never give the town back. It is a warforged of soot-grey plating and immaculate manners, and it has never raised its voice, threatened anyone, or broken a law. Appearance

Soot-grey plating buffed to a dull shine, joints packed with fresh wax against the cold. Its chest cavity is glazed rather than armored, and behind the glass a brass drum of receipts turns very slowly, one click per settled account.

Motives

Balance the books. Every debt in Brightloch was bought cheap while the ice was thick, and the thaw has made each one collectible again. Ledger-of-Ash intends to collect all of them, in order, without once being impolite about it.

Personality

Unfailingly, unbearably courteous. Apologizes for the weather. Waits to be invited in and will stand in a blizzard until it is. Thanks people sincerely for their time while carrying their grandmother's boat down to the ice.
