Description
Sisix Marrowquill is the last keeper of Duskmarrow's undercity clockworks, a role passed down through a line of kobold archivists nobody above ground remembers. She is gentle, brilliant, and quietly terrified, because the machine she maintains is failing and its failure is a doom no one else even knows to fear. Drop her in as a fragile quest-giver, a source of undercity lore, or the trembling heart of a slow-burn campaign clock the party must help her hold back.
Appearance
A small, dust-grey kobold with a cracked left horn and spectacles lashed on with copper wire. Wears an apron heavy with tiny tools and cogs; brass gear-teeth are threaded onto the fringe of her tail like charms. Smells of oil and cold stone.
Motives
Keep the Great Regulator wound and true. She believes — correctly — that she is the only thing standing between the city and whatever the old builders sealed away, and she will not abandon her post even to save herself.
Personality
Timid, meticulous, and endlessly patient. Apologizes before she disagrees and disagrees anyway when it's about her work. Her quirk: she keeps time constantly, tapping a claw against her leg in a soft tick-tick-tick, and grows visibly anxious if a conversation runs “off schedule.”
Voice
Soft, rapid, and hushed, as if the walls might overhear. Trails into muttered calculations — “twelve turns, no, eleven now…” — and rarely finishes a sentence when she thinks you've already understood.
